For the Love of Nutella!

 

It’s Friday, so who needs a sweet treat after the long work week?  How about some Nutella recipes!  No, I’m not being paid by Nutella to write this.  I just have too much in my kitchen pantry!  Why do I have so much?  Well, more on that below.  Now, let’s see how many ways we can use Nutella in a dessert!  Y’all ready?

Too Much Nutella!

The last thing I want to do during the hot summer months is cook in the oven.  That means all but one of these recipes is of the “no bake” variety.  Great treats that keep the heat out of the kitchen – win-win!

Now, here’s why I have 6 jars of Nutella in my kitchen!  It’s all because of the Ibotta app & the fact that I can’t resist a good deal.  ; )  They had a $2 rebate one week which could be used up to 3 times on 1 receipt.  Then it happened again the next week!  Who could resist that?!?  Apparently not me!

So, I decided it was time to test out some of those Nutella recipes I’ve been saving on Pinterest.  I even started a board just for them!

2 Ingredient Nutella Brownies

This recipe sounded too good to be true, so, I had to try it!  I found this recipe by Emma Christensen over at the Kitchn.  All you need are eggs & Nutella!

The hardest part of this was whipping the eggs, but it was totally worth it!  It didn’t take long for them to be gobbled up by my family & me.  : )

The brownies were very light compared to regular brownies with a nice crisp on the outside.  Next time I will cook them little longer to cook the interior a little more.  Definite keeper!

Nutella Filled Doughnuts

I love me a good doughnut with hot fresh coffee.  It’s a rare treat because fresh doughnuts live no where near me – boo!  When I found these two Nutella filled doughnut recipes from Sips and Spoonfuls & Buns in My Oven I knew I needed to try it out.  Only I didn’t make my own dough, I used Rhodes frozen rolls.

I’m not opposed to making my own dough, I have before.  These were already in the freezer & in convenient ball shapes.  That meant less time from start to doughnuts!

These turned out really good except for my lack of piping skills. ; )  I started with a paper bag that came apart after filling one doughnut.  Then I moved to a Ziploc bag which got holes in the side & started leaking!  Only one or two actually had filling.  The others just had a Nutella dot on the side!  Haha!

Luckily, they were good without the Nutella.  Not so lucky for me because none were left for coffee this morning!  : (

Nutella Energy Bites

Need something that’s a little healthier?  These Nutella Energy Bites from Love & Bellinis should fit the bill!  I did some things a little different than the original recipe.  The hazelnuts got replaced with pecans because that’s what I had on hand.  Then I put the oatmeal, flaxseed, & pecans into my Ninja and chopped everything up a bit.

Food with raw oatmeal has a better texture to me when it’s chopped smaller.  I also used maple syrup in place of the agave nectar.  I thought it might taste like a chocolate pecan pie since my recipe has oatmeal in it.

On a side note, this maple syrup is a brand by CVS.  It was buy one get one free at $6.19 last week!  That’s a great price for real maple syrup, especially organic.

I also left out the shredded coconut.  It’s not that I don’t like coconut, because I do – fresh, milk, water, etc. The texture of shredded coconut is so gross to me in desserts!  Can y’all tell I have a thing with food textures?

Anyway, scooped these out with my cookie scoop for even proportions.  I still had to smoosh them together some to hold their shape.

These are good & I can definitely see how they would be good for an afternoon slump!

Nutella Cake in a Mug

I almost wish I hadn’t found this recipe – almost!  This 4 Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake from Kirbie’s Cravings is dangerous to know how to make.

I made it with 3 ingredients because I used self rising flour, which eliminates the baking powder.  And yeah, it’s really good y’all!

Hot chocolate cake at your fingertips….sorry!  {not really!} ; )

Frosted Nutella Mochaccino

I’ve seen several versions of frozen & hot Nutella drinks on Pinterest, but I decided to make up my own today!  Here’s what I used:

  • 6 coffee ice cubes {just freeze cooled coffee}
  •  1 banana
  • 2 {big} Tbsp greek yogurt
  • 1 small vanilla ice cream cup
  • 2 {big} Tbsp Nutella
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk {depending on how thick you want it}

Put it all in a blender {or Ninja!} & blend until everything’s well mixed.  Now, sit back & sip the coolness!
