Ah, the American dream!  What is that exactly?  I believe it’s whatever you make it.  No one individual has the same dream.  We all have ideas about where we want to be and what we want to be doing.

My dream used to be one of just having a job so I could support my son and give him everything he needed or wanted.  I worked hard to move up in my chosen profession.  At a certain point, I realized I was just working to pay the bills.  I didn’t like my job and I was miserable!  Still, I plugged on.  I had a family to help support, there was no room for my dreams.

Then life really kicked me in the butt!  I had to take a hard look at what was going on in my life and where I was heading.  What kind of example was I setting for my son?  I wanted him to know that having dreams and achieving them was not only a possibility, but very rewarding.  How could he see this was possible if I didn’t try to achieve my dreams?  He couldn’t.

So, I took the plunge.  I started this website and put myself out there for all the world to see!  If I do a belly flop or a swan dive is yet to be seen, but at least I’m trying!  To have a dream and never try to make it a reality is not a life lived.  There will be trials and errors, but it’s not supposed to be easy!  If it was, how would I know when I had succeeded?

Right now, in my life, I feel I am closer than ever to achieving MY American Dream!
