I can’t believe we are tipping over into the 2nd half of the year already!  I’ve been knee deep in projects, reorganizing, & future blogging plans.  This monthly roundup is jammed pack with crafty awesomeness!  I did warn you last month that I would be making, making, making because I have more “free” time during the summer.  Grab a comfy chair, get a cup of coffee, & let’s see what’s been going on in my crafty universe this June 2017!

Although this is not happening this month, I really want to share it now!  I’m working on a QAL that will {hopefully} start in August.  Here’s a little sneak peak of my sketch in progress:

It’s based on the thought of having a garden that grows quilting supplies!  The lovely ladies in the Farm House Quilts Facebook group gave me the idea.  More to come!

The 100 Day Project ~>

This project has taken a back-burner this month!  It finishes up in July, so I’ve got to get back to it.  Look for the big finish under #100daysofteadoddles on Instagram.

QAL’s  ~>

I’ve managed to catch up on some of my QAL’s with all my “free” time.  There’s still some waiting for their day!

Milky Way Sampler from Blossom Heart Quilts ~>  I am so in love with these blocks & the fabric I chose!

The Children’s Library BOM from Pat Sloan ~> This fabric is so fun & soft!  I really need to stop falling in love with my QAL’s or I’ll have none left for presents.  On the bottom left is block #4, which looks nothing like the real block #4.  That’s what happens when you decide to keep sewing when your tired!

Designer of the Month from Aurifil ~> That faux weave block was a doozy!  This has just about depleted my purple fabric.  How can I have so much fabric & no purple?

Other Sewing…

This month I’ve been able to participate in some fun testing & garment sewing.  I can share some of it, but some is still top secret!

Fandom in Stitches – Warehouse 13 block designed by Angela Gross ~> I’ve jumped back into testing blocks for FIS continuing with the Warehouse 13 blocks.  More to come!

Summer Sew Along from Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics ~>  This was a fun little sew along that gave me two new tops!  Yay!  I’m on my way to a me-made wardrobe.  : )  These still need neck bindings & hemming, so not quite finished.

I also got to test a great pattern from SeamstressErin Designs.  I’ll give you a peak of the fabric I used, but I have to wait until she releases the pattern to show photos.

Don’t forget to check out the Great Links section in the sidebar for links to great linky parties, QAL’s, & such!  It’s below the post if you’re reading this on a mobile phone.  Also, check out my Pinterest profile for more crafty inspiration!

The Craft Room

Monday I posted about my fabric stash reboot & I’m finally finished!  Here’s my newly organized fabric shelf ~

I got all my larger yardages measured & labeled so I’ll know if there’s enough for a project.  My quilting fabric is on the first two levels & divided by color.  The baskets on top hold my mini squares, triangles, & such.

At one time I thought my sewing room would be decorated in aqua, red, & grey – one of my favorite color combos.  Since my thinking chair turned out purple, I’ve been rethinking this.  This fun fabric I got from an Instagram destash has made me rethink my design thoughts.

It goes really well with my chair & 100 day project!

This will be an ongoing remake & update of my craft space.  I may be moving to a different room in the house by the end of the year, so just preparing!

Coming up in July…..

DIY ~>

Remember this mess of an office from my Finding Space for a Home Office post?  I’ll be working on reorganizing this space so I can actually use it!  This will of course involve giving some of the furniture & shelves a makeover.  There’s a desk, filing cabinet, & plastic drawers for starters that need an inspiring face lift!  ; )

I also need to re-makeover the stool for my thinking chair, which I mentioned in my last post.

Craft Room Destash Challenge ~>

You may have noticed a new type of post this month.  I’ve joined up with several other bloggers to participate in the Craft Room Destash Challenge.  This will be every 3rd Monday of the month & will post at 10 a.m. versus my {mostly} usual 5 p.m. post time.  This was really fun & I’m looking forward to participating again this month!

Sewing ~>

Although this is not due until September, I wanted to share my fabric pull for an upcoming baby quilt order.  This almost makes me wish I was having a baby again – almost!  ; )  I’m okay waiting {a long time!} for grand babies!

Oh my goodness!  There are so many great QAL’s & such starting this summer/fall & some have started already.  Of course I really don’t need to start new things right now, but….. that’s just not me!  : )

  1. So many wows!!! Loving your garden drawing so far! I was trying to decide between rolling hills on a farm or a fenced garden patch ? and your extra additions are ingenious!!! Love the fabrics you’ve shown off here – I’ve just found my love for aquas and pinks. Your 100dayproject is huge!!!! I didn’t see it’s actual size till now on your chair (which I also love). Glad to see you got your stash in order, and so much sewing going on ? ummm, what else lolz…love your children’s book blocks and cute fabric choices, and your aurifil BOM is awesome so far, well done! And your tops are cute, love the detailing. And no I don’t need more BOMs yet haha…im just keeping up with saving patterns of the ones I’m already following ?

    • I love your enthusiasm Skye! ? My 100dayproject is a little bigger now, since that photo is older. I hope you get to sew soon or you just might burst! ?

      • I’m so very tempted to pull out one of the machines ?? but am happily embroidering away while reading sewing stuff – thank goodness for the internet ??

  2. Wow Kristie you put me to shame, you have achieved so much. I love the idea of your secret QAL, hope you let us join, although I will be like Skye and just save for now. Thanks heaps for the links of all those QAL. You are a very creative soul and I love that you enjoy sharing your projects. Sorry its taken so long to check all your posts out, but my life sometimes gets in the way of enjoyable stuff. Take care.

    • Guida you are so sweet! I will definitely be sharing my QAL with everyone & I can’t wait to! Hopefully you & Skye will be back to sewing soon. 🙂
