For this week’s gift ideas I thought I’d do a roundup of sewing posts from past to present. These are all small sewing projects that would make great gifts & not take too much time. Some may even teach you a new trick or two. Let’s take a look at this roundup of sewing gift ideas!

Year 2016

I started my blog in May of 2016 & this was my first sewing post! This seat belt cover is still in use, but it probably could use a washing. ; )

Pair it with an air freshener for a simple & useful gift!

These Father’s Day Templates are perfect to make a little mini quilt. for the golfer or fisher on your list. I designed these for some of my former students as gifts. The only problem is that I made them before I started the blog & didn’t take pictures! This post is on my list for a makeover, but the templates are still there in two different sizes. I just have a picture of a sad, sad paper version of the fishing template – boo!

This Easy Fleece, Flannel, & Lace Throw couldn’t be simpler to make! It would be cute with pom poms as well. All it takes is some fleece, flannel, & trim and the combinations are really endless.

This post about Basic Paper Piecing also has a free pattern to print out. It takes four of the printed patterns to make the block below.

There’s another free pattern in this Fussy Cut FPP post. The great thing about these two patterns is that they can be rearranged to make different kinds of blocks.

You could use these patterns to make hot pads or a small quilted tote. Maybe even a throw pillow, if you have a little more time!

I made this fabric art for my Mother as a Mother’s Day gift last year. This was a two part post, with one focusing on transferring a photo to a pattern & one focusing on sewing/quilting it. It really doesn’t take that much time as long as you use a simple photograph.

Have a bunch of orphaned quilt blocks lying around? Put them to use with this Quilt Block Charging Station! I actually used the first block shown above to make a larger one for my work table. : )

I re-designed this Little Stuffed Dinosaur Pattern after I found the one I made for my son after he went to college. He loved that little dinosaur so much two of the legs were missing! This would be great as a stocking stuffer or to tuck in with a blanket as a gift.

If you don’t have time to make quilt blocks for hot pads, check out these Quilted Upcycled Sweatshirt Hot Pads. This is just two layers of an old sweatshirt quilted together. Easy peasy!

Year 2018

So, this DIY Rope Basket may look complicated, but it really comes together fast! It’s just zig-zagging & adding bits of fabric here & there. You can make them smaller too, like this dyed rope bowl.

It seems my post on how to add fabric letters to a fleece blanket has become popular here lately! This is really such an easy way to personalize a ready made blanket or a blanket kit.

This mini charm square tote with pockets is a great way to use up a mini charm pack. Give it empty or fill it with something fun!

The last thing on my list is this fabric scrap wrap I made to use up some of the teeny, tiny scraps I can’t seem to throw away. It was very easy to make, but didn’t make much of a dent in my scraps! : D

I hope y’all enjoyed strolling down memory lane with me & getting some gift ideas at the same time! Have a great week! : )
