Hey ya’ll! In case you can’t tell by my greeting, I’m a southern gal! I hail from the southwest region of Georgia, where the tea is sweet and the gnats are fierce. So, you may be wondering – what the heck is a teadoddle? A more apt question would be – who is Teadoddle? Teadoddle is my late Grandmother (or Little Memaw). She was a spirited woman with a knack for creating. My fondest memories are sitting with her crocheting a chain forever (I was two, what did you expect!) and drinking coffee. Yep, she fueled that passion too! This blog is dedicated to all the passion, creativity, and love of coffee she passed down to me.

BACKSTORY:
In 2013 my life changed – drastically. I worked 40-50 hours a week as a drafter (drawing buildings and such, not race car drafting (unfortunately :)), 10 plus hours as a dual enrollment teacher, and the rest of the time was dedicated to my son and home. I was busy, busy, busy! It left little time for the passion and creativity I mentioned before. Life was rushed and stressed, but it seemed good. Then, WHAM! I found a lump in my neck. Hmm, what’s that? That was the start of a rock-slide that eventually buried me with one eye peeking thru the cracks and a hand trying to reach for help. I had thyroid cancer. Then, WHAM, BAM!! My place of employment for over 13 years closed its doors. My world was slipping out from under me, one piece at a time.
The next few years were spent adjusting. Adjusting to life without a thyroid (NOT FUN!), life as a mostly stay-at-home mom (my son is a teenager!), and just life, stretching before me. But wait! What about all that passion and creativity just waiting to burst out of me? What about all the hoards mounds collections (that sounds better :)) of crafting, sewing, crocheting, etc. items I had accumulated? Hey, now I actually have time to use it and let out the creative force that’s been held in check for far too long! I’ve also decided to share it with ya’ll, since:
a) my family is tired of hearing me talk about it (they are my co-workers now, even if they don’t know it!)
b) I have lots of free time that I fill with waaaay too many projects. Maybe this will help me reign them in!
So, I hope ya’ll join me on my journey, surviving life creatively!
