Today is Friday, it’s the 13th, and the moon is full!  What does that mean?  Well, you might encounter some strange things or it might just be a regular day like always.  I encounter strange things on a regular basis (usually it’s just me being strange), so it will be an ordinary day for me!

I’ve decided to start Finish it Friday once a month.  It will become a regular post at the beginning of the month for updates on sewing/crochet projects from the previous month and upcoming events for the new month.  I realize this is the end of the second week of January, but I have much to share from the previous year and about the new year.  This is a lengthy post so you can skip to the bits you really want to see and I’ll never know!

New Affiliate Deals Page

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve added a page called “Affiliate Deals“.  I felt it necessary to provide more information about what an affiliate is and explain why I choose the affiliates.  You will find all the current deals and links to my affiliates on this page.  Don’t miss Craftsy’s BOGO class sale and Cents of Style’s dress sale this weekend!

2016 Finishes – Kinda

Why kinda?  Well most of these are not completely “finished” per say.  They are my progress for some of the QAL’s I started, what I plan to finish this year, and what will have to wait.  When I look at all the other things I have finished, beyond quilts, I think I did pretty well!

To Finish this Year ~>

Crossroads QAL from the Fat Quarter Shop ~> This QAL had the option of donating to the March of Dimes for each quilt block you downloaded.  I plan on finishing up this quilt top this weekend.

Seminole Sampler  from Morning Glory Designs ~ I have one row and one bonus block done which is pitiful considering I got precut bundles every month!

Murder Mystery QAL from Whipstitch ~ Read the chapter of a mystery story and make a quilt block to match every month!  I liked this so much, I’m doing it again this year!  This year’s quilt is a plan of the area the story took place in.  I have to stitch the blocks together, but otherwise this top is done!

My Secret Garden MBOM from Pat Sloan ~  I thought I only had one more row to do, but there’s two more.  I think I only have enough fabric for one more row!  We’ll see what happens!

Eventually ~>

These are quilts I will eventually finish but probably not this year.

Stars in the Night QAL from Quilt Addicts Anonymous ~ I really have a ton left to do on this one!  You see that stack in the middle?  That’s a seam on top of the block and the whole stack’s like that!  I’m keeping it as a design choice, hehe!

The Splendid Sampler from Pat Sloan plus other designers ~ There were 100 blocks, two per week for this QAL and I just couldn’t keep up!  I have a box full of blocks I’ve cut out and some of the applique blocks ready to stitch, but it will have to wait.  The blocks are free up to a week after 2/12, then they’ll be in a book to purchase.

My Favorite Things from Sewhooked ~ I will probably turn these blocks into pillows or wall art.  I have no plans to finish the entire quilt.

Following for 2017

Down the Rabbit Hole from Sarah Fielke ~ This is a paid BOM.  You can pay for it by the month thru January 15th and after that you have to pay for the whole year up front.  Here’s the sketch of what it’s going to look like:

Kathryn Kerr’s 365 Challenge ~ I tried this last year and got lost along the way, so I’m trying again!  I’ve got a head start on this one since most of the blocks are the same.

Quilting Life BOM from A Quilting Life ~ There are several different sew alongs going on here, so check them all out!

Quilting Project from Persimmon Dreams ~ This is a challenge to make a whole quilt each week.  I’m just watching this one this year!

Labyrinth Quilt and Stitch Along from Fandom in Stitches ~  This is one of my favorite movies and I’ve been helping test some blocks for this one, so y’all check it out!  Just look for patterns tested by “Kristie Hudson Cook”.  There are some very talented designers out there!

Geek Along from Lattes and Llamas ~  While I’m not making the squares this year (still working on last year’s), I wanted to share some new information.  Lattes and Llamas has their own hand dyed yarn line and they have special colors for the GAL this year!  I had to buy one pair just to check it out and it’s for a good cause.

This is just the short list, so check out my Pinterest board QAL’s, CAL’s, and BOM’s for more things to follow!
