Being a blogger, I’m online more than I want to be sometimes.  I’m always looking for great articles, products, & makes/makers to share with y’all.  Usually the things I share are found by reading articles online or in my inbox.  When I find something I really think is awesome, I pin it or put it on a wishlist somewhere.  I thought I’d share some recent {& past} finds for a Friday favorites post today.  Maybe ya’ll will find some things you need, want, or gotta have!  : D

Needs

Ok, sometimes needs, wants, & gotta haves blend in together.  It’s hard to separate them!  These are some items that I need to help with projects on the horizon.

  • A new bobbin case for my Brother CS-8150 sewing machine!  I couldn’t find this machine for sale anywhere anymore, but it’s my favorite sewing machine.  I had a chip in the bobbin case causing me thread issues & bought a replacement online.  The one that came in didn’t have the felt portion on the case.  I still have thread issues & feel like the one in the link is closer to what I need.
  • I’m learning more about free motion quilting {FMQ} and all the videos about it suggest having the items below will make the process go smoother.  I had all of these on a wishlist separately, but I found this FMQ quilting set on Amazon.

  • Why do I need a cork roll you ask?  Well, I have several projects coming up that will require cork board & this is a better solution than the single squares.  That’s all I’m saying right now!  ; )
  • Alright.  Maybe I don’t need these ostrich socks, but they make me smile every time I see them.  Who doesn’t need a smile?

  • I found this Barbicide Disinfecting Jar on my Amazon wishlist called “things I need”.  I have no idea why it’s on there & found it bizarre that at one point I thought I needed it for some reason!  : D

Wants

It should come as no surprise to you that most of what’s on this list involves fabric & patterns.  There are more fun things to click on too – even though fabric is the main thing I look at online!  Haha!

  • This soft sage green floral fern wallpaper is just gorgeous!  It would be fun to put up on one small wall just for some punch.  It also looks like a great fabric print!  Hee hee!
  • I’m not one to like typical home decor.  This roots ceiling light is absolutely stunning – even if it’s out of my budget.  It’s one of those “if I had unlimited funds” wants.
  • Fabric wants – I’m just gonna drop some links & pictures here & let all my fabric friends drool!
    • I’m a big word nerd, so I LOVE this!  Sarah Fielke Wordplay {get the Studious print in wide-back {yay!} at Hawthorne Threads }
    • I prefer this color combo for Halloween over the traditional black & orange.  Eclipse by Cotton + Steel
    • This fabric would make some wonderful throw pillows!  Uncorked by Windham Fabrics
    • Check out those cute bunnies!  Sunshine by Alexia Abegg for Cotton + Steel Fabrics

  • I love the unconventional design of this Slope quilt pattern from Amanda Murphy Design.  It’s a great pattern to use up scraps!
  • I can see so many possibilities with this USA Collage Quilt Pattern by Collage Quilter from Four Peaches Fabric.   {By the way Peach Blossoms are half off right now!}

Gotta Haves

These are things that will soon move to my “I got it!” list!

  • I’m using up scraps this year & this Starbright quilt pattern from Briar Hill Designs is a perfect way to do that!
  • Unfortunately I didn’t find this fabric, Architextures, by Carolyn Friedlander for Kauffman Fabrics until after it was out of print.  I found some on Etsy, but it’s almost gone so I’m keeping the link to myself!  ; P
  • I love these recycled computer processor magnets that look like mini quilts!
  • I love all the bug patterns from Laly Lala, but this Moth crochet pattern is my favorite!  It would be such a cute present for a little one.

Hope y’all find some fun stuff to click!  Have a great weekend!

  1. Definitely some very cool stuff. I’d buy that barbicide jar and put spools of thread or colorful giant clay beads, I have a bunch of these that I use for macrame. The ostrich socks are so stinking cute. I love Monkey socks and bought several pairs back when they were popular. Now I’m down to 2 pairs and can’t find them any more.

  2. So many interesting items 😃 I haven’t seen those bobbin sliders thingies before, and had looked into Teflon sheets and cardboard ideas before getting my machine that drops it’s feed dogs. I must agree that the quilting gloves are great even for non free motion quilting, I found a handy hint to cut off the thumb and first 2 fingers, with keeping the in between bits, then you can do more fiddly stuff without having to take them off…. I have always wanted one of those branch light shades, the shadows that come off them are wonderful! I’ll find a photo of the build a lightshade that I have – you use a coloured bulb…. That wordplay fabric is a must want 😁 interested to hear your thoughts with tulapink and her recent hassles, seeing that you’ve been collecting her prints….. My son would love those computer magnets 😃 and I absolutely adore those bug toys 😃

    • The bobbin sliders were on a FMQ video from Craftsy {I think}. Good tip for the gloves! I have avoided them because I have a hard time doing things with gloves on. Saw the light shades you shared on FB – they are amazing! After watching Tula Pink’s video on FB, I think she’s just moving on to more amazing things. I’m hoping to score some of her latest prints before the all get scooped up! 🙂
