Friday the 13th Favorites + Halloween Mantel

Today is Friday the 13th & Halloween is just around the corner.  I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but I’ve been seeing some inspiring things around the interwebs {ha!} & decided to decorate my mantel shelf this year!  I’ll share my finished Halloween mantel along with some frightening fabric & demented decor finds.  Get ready for some spooky fun!

Malicious Mantle

Finally, here is my “malicious” mantle…

I didn’t get to take these pictures until it was dark outside, but it kind of fits the mood!  I used the spooky spider frame I made last year as a center piece & starting point.

There are so many potion labels out there, but I thought these from The Navage Patch were the best.  You can also find so many great ideas for filling the bottles to match the labels on their site!  I tied my labels on with some black & white twine.

Those roses are some I hung up to dry on my porch & sorta forgot about them.  They were perfect for this!  I wrapped a vase in some cheesecloth & rubbed it with some brown ink.

This jar is filled with feathers I plucked off my black feather wreath…

The love potion bottle has a kind of iridescence to it that didn’t show up well in the photo.  I used pulled apart stuffing for the spider silk – of course!  Those fluffy poufs came off of my whimsical Halloween branch project.  They are dust bunnies & you have to watch out or they will take over!  Great for cleaning spells though!  ; )

My tarnished silver candle holder fits right in on this mantle!  The candles have been hanging around in a drawer for many moons…

A little crocheted pumpkin, more potion bottles, & the tarnished silver pen from our wedding round out the look.  Find the free pumpkin crochet pattern at Cynthia Banessa.

I think this mantle is maliciously marvelous!  Hope y’all have a fabulously frightening Friday the 13th & watch out for black cats!  : )

Pin it for later!
