Has everyone had a fantastic extended weekend so far?  I know I have!  I stuffed myself silly with ribs, brisket, potato salad, blueberry crumble and just about anything else you can think of that might happen at a cook-out!

brisket
My Dad’s brisket. Man, was it delicious!

Hopefully I worked some of that off while I was fighting the weed infested remains of my garden.  Who let that happen?  It couldn’t have been me, I don’t do things like that!  🙂  Let’s just say, it’s a WIP.  For those of you that don’t know, that’s a “work in progress”, not like Indiana Jones whip.  (Although that would be really cool, until I injured myself (cause that’s what would happen)).  Usually reserved for crafting projects, but I like to apply it to anything that’s not done – even me!

So, where was I?  Oh yeah!

We are at the tail end of May, which means I’m preparing for the month ahead.  How do I do that?  Glad you asked!  Over the years I’ve developed several files for my planner that help keep me organized:

  • Monthly calendar ~ This is an overview of what’s going on during the month, like:
    agenda 2
    Planner pages
    • Appointments, birthdays, school info, etc.
    • Monthly chores (I know chores, ug!)
    • Notable things
  • Daily scheduler ~ This is for all the specifics. It’s divided like so:
    • Must Do – appointments, events, pay a bill, etc.
    • Done – I like a Done list instead of a “To Do” list. I have an idea everyday about what I would like to accomplish.  If I make a “To Do” list and I don’t complete it, I just see what I DIDN’T do.  Now, I jot down what I DID do at the end of the day, so I can feel like a Rockstar, instead of a bum!
    • Water, vitamins/meds, food ~ Keep up with water intake, what you ate during the day, and anything else you need to take
    • Work it out ~ I use this area to jot down anything I consider a workout! Laundry counts, right?
    • What’s the scoop ~ This is like a journal area for me to jot down what happened that day that I might forget later on – thanks thyroid less

    • Thankful for ~ This helps me remember that there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for at the end of the day!
  • Monthly meal calendar ~ I use this to plan meals ahead. Then, when I’m busy in my “studio” I don’t have to stop and think about what I’m fixing for supper.  Yay! J  I usually plug in regular meals I know we like and are easy to fix.  Then I look through my Pinterest boards (used to be magazine files!) to see what I might like to try out.
  • Recipe List ~ This goes with the meal calendar. When I jot down the month’s meals, I put the recipe, location of recipe, what I need for the recipe, and if I can make extra for the freezer/pantry on this list.  When I get ready to go to the store, I can look at this list to see what I need for the week or month.

These all go into my “household” binder.  I use them to help me stay on track as much as possible during the month.  Life is gonna happen, having a plan just takes out a little of the chaos!

Now for the best part!  I have several printouts I would like to share with you for the low, low price of FREE!  Yay!  We all like freebies!   These are slimmed down versions of my personal agenda.  I designed them myself and I hope you like them!  Just click on the links in the list above (sneaky, right?) to download the pdf.  These are for personal use only, but if you share, please direct them back here to download.  Then, they can enjoy my ramblings too!

Ya’ll have a great rest of the day!  Come back Wednesday for my list (gulp!) of WIP’s!
