Ultimate Bracelet Holder from Thrifted Framed Print

Well hey y’all! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted a DIY project here on the blog. This seems like a good year to bring that back! I made this ultimate bracelet holder a while back for a friend of mine with a bit of a jewelry obsession. This one is specifically for bracelets {as you will see} and I was informed there needs to be one just for necklaces, lol! See a pic of that one at the end of this post.

Making an Ultimate Bracelet Holder

As I mentioned above, my friend has quite the bracelet collection. I picked a frame from my thrifted collection that was heavier to help support everything in her growing collection. This framed print is from a stack I found while traveling the 100 Mile Peanut Picking Yard Sale that runs through our town each year.

This frame is about 0x0 and the print is a bit faded and worn. I didn’t remove the print because repurposing a repurpose has happened before – if that makes sense! First we painted the frame with a rubbed bronze spray paint to give it a bit of an edgy look.

Since the glass was going to be painted as well, I didn’t bother to tape it. We used a mirror effect paint for the glass to make it look like aged glass. {You’ll see that in the photos below}.

I pulled these mini crates and dowel rods from my stash. We painted them with some chalk paint I had on hand in the color Relic. It really goes well with the frame colors.

The upper hooks are just basic cup hooks in a antique bronze finish. I modified shower hooks to use for the larger dowel rod & had to drill small holes in the frame for both. I used e6000 glue to hold the crates and shower hooks in place.

This frame already had a hanging wire on the back, so we used that along with standard hanging hardware to hang it up.

Here it is all filled up! Well, I think she had more to add and I’m sure there will be more in the future.

Necklace Holder

Here’s a picture of the necklace holders we made. The jewelry holder in the middle is one she already had and the ones to either side are what we made.

We bought a 1×6 board and had it cut into 8 pieces that are 18″ long. I made them into shelves using L-brackets and we added a gazillion cup hooks. It took forever to drill all the holes for those hooks! In the end it turned out just right. Now my friend can find all her jewelry quickly while putting things together for the day. Plus I had fun doing another DIY project with my friend!
