Supplies & Notes

I made this scarf using DK{#3} weight yarn. You can make it with whatever weight yarn you would like and I discuss some of the options in this YouTube video. Here are the materials I used for the scarf in the tutorial video and pictures:

  • Wool-Ease DK Cakes by Lion Brand – DK{#3} weight, 3.5oz/100g, 393yd/360m, 80% acrylic/20% wool ~ 1 cake in Forever Young & 1 cake in Strawberry Shortcake
  • Hook size – 7/4.5mm

Note ~ It will take about a 1/3 to 1/2 of each cake to make the scarf. The hook size I used was based on my yarn size. If you use a different weight of yarn, you will need to adjust accordingly. You will need two contrasting colors to be able to see the heart shape in the scarf.

Abbreviations

  • ch – chain
  • sl – slip stitch
  • dc – double crochet
  • puff st – yo, insert hook into designated stitch, {yo & pull up loop} 5 times, yo & pull loop through all stitches on the hook, ch 1 {check out this video tutorial for the puff stitch if you need help}
  • box – I refer to one complete section of C2C as a box. So a ch 3 and 2 dc makes a box or a ch 3, puff, & dc makes a box,
