Hey y’all! It’s time for the next segment in my “DIY Gift” series. This week I’m showing y’all how to make a handmade earring trio. These are really easy to make & I made them all in about 30 minutes. Plus, you can give them as a set or separately, which would be 3 gifts! Also, please excuse my un-manicured fingers in the photos. I’ve been super busy making! ; )

Handmade Earring Trio

I’ve linked to similar findings & tools in the supply lists below. Some of these things I’ve had for a quite awhile! If you’re looking for a beginning set of jewelry tools, this one has several of the ones I used & it’s not too expensive.

Loop & Bead Earrings

This first pair of earrings takes a little wire bending to make, but it’s still really easy to do. Here are the supplies I started with:

I wanted to use the tubular jasper beads, but they were too long. The round beads were just right & I decided not to use the coco beads.

The metal loops have a hole in the top & bottom which was perfect for the eye pin to go through. I stacked everything together before threading it on the eye pin. This helps keep things in the right order.

I bent the tops at about 90 degrees with my long nose pliers.

Then I used my round nose pliers along with the bent nose pliers to make a loop at the top.

Snip off the ends & these are ready for some ear wires! I used the nylon pliers to flatten things back out & keep from scratching the metal.

The loop in the ear wire should be opened to the side. Opening the loop itself will weaken the loop & distort it.

First pair finished!

Here’s them hanging up so you can see different angles…

This picture could have been a little clearer!

Wood & Metal Earrings

For the second pair of earrings, I’m using:

The chain I’m using has openings in the links, but they are soldered together. I used some jewelry snips to cut the large links open.

The blue beads fit right into the gap & I smooshed the link back together. Smooshed is probably not the correct term for that! : D

The ear wires I used for these are just a shaped piece of wire. I unhooked them & slid on the wooden earring blank & chain. Super simple!

I’m really digging these!

Would it be wrong for me to keep these for myself? ; D

Leaf & Chain Earrings

The last pair is the easiest one to make & probably my favorite pair! I’m using:

I like to mix different metals in jewelry. There’s silver, copper, & a little gold on the leaves!

I set up my leaf charms under the ear wires to see how long I wanted the chains to be. Once I had one side cut, I just measured off the same length for the other side.

Open up the ear wires & slide on the chains & charm. Voila – earrings!

I’m really, really loving these!

Now, I promise to give a least two pair as gifts, but I’m strongly considering gifting this last pair to myself! Haha! I hope y’all liked this handmade earring trio. Look for more easy DIY gifts next week & I have an ornament exchange blog hop coming up on Friday. Yay! : D

P.S. My Etsy store is open if you want to take a peak! More items are coming this weekend!

Pin it for later!
