Hey y’all! It’s so good to be back! After going through a hurricane, I think I’m going to start fresh with these podcasts. I’ll just do one every Saturday {provided I have power!} & talk about whatever’s going on that week. I think this may work out better & maybe I won’t forget to share things. This one’s packed full since I missed last weeks podcast. Hope y’all like it! You can find a link to the show notes below. : )

Timestamp 00:00:05 ~ Life Update ~>

Wow, what a crazy couple of weeks this has been! The eye of hurricane Michael came over us as a category 1 hurricane & left behind a big mess. It’s heartbreaking to see how much has been lost. You can read more about my experience in my blog post. Please keep all those affected in your thoughts & prayers.

My yearly checkup with the endocrinologist happened the Monday before the hurricane. Unfortunately my TSH levels are way too high & she had to change my dosage. That means another trip to the doctor in 4 months – boo! Read about my experience with thyroid cancer right here.

I also celebrated a birthday on the 17th & wedding anniversary on the 19th. I’m now a 41 year old that’s been married 16 years! : D

Timestamp 00:11:30 ~ Yarny Goodness ~>

Since I missed my Yarny Goodness podcast, I’m squishing it in with my Fabric Obsessed podcast. In fact, I think I’ll just talk about whatever I’m doing each week rather than having 4 different podcasts!

Timestamp 00:12:40 ~ Crochet Planner/Journal ~>

I tried to make good use of my time without power by working on my crochet planner/journal. You can watch my Wildcard Podcast to find out more about all the journals I bought & the plans I have for them.

Timestamp 00:17:60 ~ New Pattern ~>

Something else I worked on while the lights were out in Georgia is a new crochet pattern! It will be called “Bumps & Scales Cowl” & I’ll be looking for testers soon. Link to the yarn I’m using is below:

Timestamp 00:22:15 ~ WIPs & 1 FO ~>

I only managed to finish one thing, but I did share plenty of WIPs! Be sure to check out the Holiday Stashdown CAL going on over at the Underground Crafter. She also has a Halloween CAL going on!

Timestamp 00:29:40 ~ New Yarny Purchases ~>

I had a few new yarns to share with y’all, purchased before my self imposed yarn {and fabric} diet of course!

Timestamp 00:51:12 ~ Fabric Obsessed ~>

After all the interruptions, it was time for the fabric portion of this podcast! As I said before, I’ve put myself on a fabric & yarn diet & most of the new stuff was purchased before that. There was some fabric purchased after it, but it was for new bags to sell! ; )

Timestamp 00:51:55 ~ All the Bags ~>

Y’all, I cut out so. many. bags. while the power was out! Now that it’s back on, I need to get them all sewed up, so I can sell them! These are the names & sizes I’m planning to have:

  • Mega Maker Bag ~ about 21″ x 15″ x 6″dp with drawstring top, key loop, & open pouch pockets for scissors, needle, phone, etc.
  • Traveling Maker Bag ~ about 15″ x 15″ x 6″dp with recessed zipper top, two handles, interior key loop, zipper pouch, & open pouch pockets for scissors, needle, phone, etc.
  • Maker Tote ~ about 11″ x 11″ x 4″dp with two handles & open pouch pockets
  • Small Maker Bag ~ about 7 1/2″ x 12″ x 6″dp with drawstring top
  • Mini Maker Bag ~ about 6″ x 7″ x 4″dp with zippered top

Timestamp 01:17:40 ~ New Fabric Purchases ~>

Most of the fabric I shared was purchased last month, but I did have somethings I purchased at Joann’s with coupons & I couldn’t resist the cotton velveteen sale over at Fabric Mart!

Hope y’all enjoyed the podcast! If you see something missing you’d like a link for, just let me know. : )
