Even though we’re almost into summer, I wanted to share this spring wreath I made from recycled pots. This was a fairly quick project to put together and I got to repurpose some pots that have been sitting in my window for quite some time.

Attaching the Pots

I ordered these pots from Hobby Lobby a long time ago. They were part of spring clearance and came with little seed packets and a soil pod for planting. While I did plant them all, I don’t remember any of them growing into a flower.

They’ve been sitting in my greenhouse window ever since, which is why they are faded on the top. This wire wreath from Dollar Tree is the perfect base for my wreath. I just need to flip it and use the back!

The flower pots fit in the groove perfectly!

I had some grapevine wire that was perfect to attach the pots. The cut outs at the top of the pots made this really easy to do.

Once all the pots were attached and in place, I decided it needed something a little more. Pom-pom flowers!

Pom-Pom Flowers

I’ve made these pom-pom flowers before for different décor over the years, which I call puffs cause they’re so fuffy! I like to mix fun yarns with regular yarns and add in some wire spriggles for good measure. The yarns I used for these are DIYarn & Fun Fur {discontinued} from Lion Brand.

I have a whole set of pom-pom makers in different sizes, but I find a post card works best for these because of the fluffy yarn. For the spriggles and stems, I used two strands of colorful art wire.

I slid the two strands under the yarn on the postcard and twisted it once, took it off and wrapped it around the whole center. Then I clipped the pom-pom and wrapped two strands of the wire around the pencil to make spriggles.

Since the art wire is not very sturdy, I wrapped the other two strands around more grapevine wire so I could attach them to the wreath. Then I simply attached them to the wreath between the pots.

My spring wreath masterpiece was complete! Maybe not a masterpiece, but it turned out pretty great. Now it hangs on my Mom’s wall cause she really loved it.

I have many more wire wreath frames, so I plan on making more in the future. Hope y’all enjoy the post and have a great weekend!
