Hey y’all! Today I’m talking about Thanksgiving plans, sharing some fabric finds for future bags, & possible maker jewelry. I’ve got lots to share with y’all today, especially after last week’s short podcast! Links to the show notes & my new Etsy shop {yay!} are below. : )

Timestamp 00:03 ~ Life Update ~>

I hit 100 subscribers on YouTube this week! Yay! It’s nice to know that many people are interested in what I’m sharing. : )

I’ve got Thanksgiving with the in-laws this Sunday & Wednesday I pick up my son. Haven’t seen him since July, so I’m really looking forward to that! I’m also really looking forward to pecan pie! I’ve linked my super easy recipe for Oatmeal Pecan Pie below. This is way less sweet than most pecan pies, but still delicious. : P

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, & Cyber Monday are coming up. Do y’all partake in the madness of Black Friday or stay home in your pjs, preferably with pie? : D

Here are links to the two services I mentioned in the podcast:

Timestamp 14:01 ~ Yarny Goodness ~>

This week, I had one finish & two new WIPs to share with y’all. Crochet weather is finally here! : D

Timestamp 14:40 ~ Finish Objects ~>

I’m wearing a past finished object in this podcast. I made The Dwell Chunky Crochet Sweater from Make & Do Crew last winter out of Lion Brand Homespun in Olive, I think! I could not find this color on the website, so it’s probably something that’s been in my stash for a really, really long time. I did find one skein of it on Etsy, if you’re looking. : )

Timestamp 19:50 ~ Mary Maxim ~>

I started working on my October Mary Maxim Crochet Club this month. It had 5 balls of Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Sequins in Purple Rain in it to make a long infinity scarf. For some reason, they sent me a knit kit for this month instead of a crochet kit. Still need to call them about that!

Timestamp 23:43 ~ Craftsy Kit ~>

I took advantage of one of Craftsy’s 60% off sales & snagged a crochet kit. It’s the Sporty Chunky One-Piece Jacket kit by Nicole Wang. This uses Craftsy’s yarn brand, Sprightly, in a chunky weight & I chose the color Misty purple. Can’t wait to get started on it!

Timestamp 25:59 ~ Ornament Exchange ~>

This year I participated in the Ornament Exchange Link Party hosted by My Pinterventures. My partner was Alexandra from Eye Love Knots & she made me the cutest gift box ornament! Check out the links below for the ornament I made her & the link party. You can share your handmade ornament tutorials thru December 15th!

Timestamp 29:22 ~ Fabric Obsessed ~>

I’ve lifted my crafty purchase diets a little this month, so I could take advantage of all the deals. I think I went just a little overboard with the fabrics, but it’s all in the name of bag making! Also, my Etsy shop is open for business! More to come soon!

I picked up 3 charm packs at Fat Quarter Shop & 1 at Craftsy. These are winter themed & for making Maker Totes & maybe some notion pouches.

  • Shimmer On Charm Pack by Jennifer Sampou for Robert Kaufman Fabrics
  • Shimmer On Essex Coordinates Charm Pack by Jennifer Sampou for Robert Kaufman Fabrics

Timestamp 36:03 ~ CCs Fabric Closet ~>

I’ve purchased from CCs Fabric Closet on Etsy before & I found some more prints to add to the bag making stash. These all came from her remnant section, so I’m just listing colors & designers below.

  • Home for the Harvest by Heather Mulder for Henry Glass ~ branches with berries on blue background
  • Low Country Indigo by Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics ~ irregular white dots on navy blue
  • Sunnyside by Sara Franklin for Windham Fabrics ~ white & blue seaweed on tonal seafood blue
  • Neutral Territory by Audrey Wright for RJR Fabrics ~ gray & cream dots, stripes, grid
  • Dot Texture on Orange from Keepsake Calico ~ white dot on tonal orange background
  • Encyclopedia Historica by Suite 1500 for Andover ~ star atlas & skeleton globe

Timestamp 41:35 ~ Joann’s Fabric Haul ~>

Well, I went in to Joanns to pick up an online order & quilt backing, but I came out with more goodies for bag making! I could only find two of them online to link to.

Timestamp 44:35 ~ Fabric Mart Haul ~>

Fabric Mart is my weakness!! I probably have things pending in my cart as I type this…

Timestamp 47:43 ~ DIY & Thrifty Fun ~>

I picked up a ton of charms during a 70% off sale at Joanns. I’m not going to list all of them I shared, but I can tell you they are from the Hildie & Jo and Tim Holtz line of jewelry products. My intent is to make charm bracelets that have charms you can use for stitch markers as well.

I also shared the earring trio I made for Wednesday’s post this week. My mother thinks I should make some for the shop as well. What do y’all think??

Hope y’all enjoyed the podcast! If you see something missing you’d like a link for, just let me know. : )
