If you’ve been around for a bit, you may notice some changes to my Monthly Roundup post. The biggest one is that it’s on Monday instead of Friday. Part of that had to do with scheduled posts & part of it is just because I decided to move it. I felt like some of my Monday only subscribers might be missing out! It’s staying here on the last Monday of the month for now, so we’ll see how it goes. This is also the first month that I don’t have much extra to show y’all! You’ll find out why as we dig into April 2018, so let’s get started, shall we?  : )

Blog News

I mentioned last week that I was looking to change the theme of my blog & make a logo. This is still something I’m working on, but I have an idea swirling in my brain – which is more than I had before! I just need to put it on paper & see how it looks. Exciting!! : D

I’d like to welcome all new subscribers – I’m glad to have you here! In case you didn’t know, there’s a page with free adult coloring printables available only to subscribers. You should have received a password with your welcome email for this month. A new password goes out on the first of the month.

I have a new affiliate – ConsumerCrafts! They carry my favorite bead storage trays I use for my sewing machine feet! This is a great place to look for craft supplies, as well as storage, for great prices.

Life Events

This month has been very busy for me, but mostly in my teaching life! It’s the first month since January that there were no breaks, so less time to make stuff. It’s also almost the end of the school year & everyone’s trying to get all the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed. My students are working on their final projects – one set of students is designing pinewood derby cars to race & the other is designing cell phone cases to print in the 3D printer.

All the students are really excited about it & it’s a good way to make sure they learn to work together.

I ordered an ironing mat set to help out until I can fix the one I broke. This lady just looks way too happy to be ironing! Plus, she’s wearing some weird apron/bib thing & there’s lingerie hanging up behind her. It just made me laugh when I saw it! The mat works & silicon ironing rest work well, but I haven’t tried the protective cloth yet. There is a strange smell to the mat, but it works!

Crafty News

I received my prints from Hope Ink & I just love them! I’ll be looking for some fun thrifted frames to hang these in. I used one of the bonuses that came with the Ultimate Homemaker Bundle that was on sale this month to purchase these.

I also got my free Orglamix eye shadow – another bundle bonus!

These bundles are always full of fun stuff & great bonuses. You can still get the Handmade with Love Super Bundle if you missed out on it. It has all the great crafty patterns, but not the bonuses since it’s evergreen. Still a great deal!

Crochet ~>

My WIP bags have not been emptied yet & I’m on a mission to complete at least one of them per month! I’ll be making a list & drawing a random number just to keep it simple. ; )

Remember my trip to Artsy Fartsy? I talked to the owner about teaching a crochet class & she thought that would be wonderful! I just need to get my pattern & supplies together so I can set a time. I’m looking at this Peaches & Creme yarn as an option to do a sampler washcloth. What do y’all think?

My mom bought me a nifty crochet bag to use when I start the class. She found it on Craftsy & I can’t believe I missed it!

I can’t wait to fill it up with crochet goodies!

Quilting

Alright. I admit it. I have a QAL problem! This month I realized that I spend too much time making blocks for QALs & not enough time working on my own ideas. Not that there’s anything wrong with a QAL {I have one coming up in June, but it’s a little different ; ) }. I’ve decided to only keep playing along with the two below:

~> Three’s Company BOM from Patchwork Posse <~ Uses up scraps!

~> Postcards from Sweden QAL from mmm! quilts! <~ This is already cut out, I just need to sew it up!

I think this will help me clear out some of those QAL boxes that never seem to empty! I’m using the same method as my crochet WIPs – make a list, draw a number, & complete one a month. Now, y’all will help me stick to this – right?  : D

If you need some more patterns to collect {ha!}, check out my Sewing ~ Quilts & Crafts ~ QAL’s & CAL’s & all my other sewing boards on Pinterest.

I do have some new fabric goodies to share as well! This Creekside Petite Fat Quarter Bundle was on the daily Flash Sale at the Fat Quarter Shop & I snapped it up. It’s been on my wish list for a minute! The link is to other sets available with the prints.

I also grabbed this Lily & Loom Stir Crazy Fat Quarter Bundle during Craftsy’s latest sale…

I’m itching to make these into something wonderful!

Sewing

I recently discovered Julie’s Pick Club from Fabric Mart. You get a newsletter with tones of fabric samples each month & ideas. Yay!

I also hit the jackpot during a recent fabric sale! I got all the fabrics below plus the newsletter for about $40!!

This one came with a pattern too!

That’s 12 yards of clothing fabric y’all! Great buy!

I took another trip to Ollie’s for more rope to make baskets & perhaps a rug.

The 100 Day Project is currently underway on Instagram. This year I’m doing free form embroidery on a thrifted window screen.

I’m having a hard time doing this everyday but it’s still fun! Follow me on Instagram & look for #100daysofteadoddles.

DIYing

This weekend I finally spent almost a whole day out in the yard cleaning & planting. It was nice to touch the soil! This rusty shelf is on the list this month for a makeover.

It belongs to my grandmother-in-law & I hope to have it ready by Mother’s Day.

My friend Monique from Farm House Quilts had the cutest stamps she was using as embroidery patterns. They were on sale very cheap, so I snapped some up!

I’ll be using these for some fun projects coming up!

I think that’s it for this monthly roundup – not a lot of extra makes, but lots of potential makes! Hope y’all have a great week!
